That restraint is deliberate: the cloth is a hand-dyed gold and cream in a repeating sunburst motif, and any additional detail would be arguing with it.
It is the piece that works hardest across seasons — flat sandals and a straw bag in August, boots and a heavy cardigan in October, gold jewellery for a party. Ten were made, in a dye lot that will not be repeated exactly.
